You may find that after pregnancy, weight loss, or just due to the natural process of aging and gravity, the breasts sag and lose their shape.
Patients who are generally satisfied with the size of their breasts can have a breast lift, also known as a Mastopexy, to raise and firm them, resulting in a more youthful breast contour.

If you are happy with the size of your breasts, but the skin is sagging and/or or the nipples are pointing downward, you will benefit from a breast lift.
As with any surgical procedure, there are risks involved, such as infection or bleeding. Permanent numbness in the breast or areola is also possible. However, complications are rare.
Depending on the type of lift you need, the incisions will vary. Some Baltimore breast lift patients require only minimal incisions. This will be explained in detail during your consultation after Dr. Basner determines what lift would be best for you. The doctor will make every effort to ensure that your scars are as inconspicuous as possible. It is important to remember that breast lift scars are permanent. They may be swollen and red initially, but they will gradually become less obvious and eventually fade to narrow lines. The scars can generally be hidden beneath your bra or bikini top.
Insurance does not cover breast lifts. Although the need for a lift may result from pregnancy or large weight loss, it is still considered cosmetic.
