Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid lift surgery, is a facial rejuvenation procedure used to enhance the appearance of droopy upper eyelids or excess fat and skin under the eyes. Eyelid lift surgery can also be performed for treatment of a medical condition known as “ptosis,” which is caused by poor muscle tone or nerve damage. Blepharoplasty involves small incisions created along the natural crease of the eye or just below the lower eyelids. During the procedure, excess fat, muscle and skin are removed to achieve a more youthful and rejuvenated facial appearance.

Blepharoplasty is often performed in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation procedures such as facelift, neck lift or rhinoplasty. In addition, many eyelid surgery Baltimore patients also undergo minimally invasive wrinkle filler treatments or Botox injection in order to eliminate crow’s feet and other signs of aging around the eyes.
