Breast Reduction Surgery / Mammaplasty

Breast reduction, or mammaplasty, is a plastic surgery procedure that focuses on reducing oversized breasts, a condition known as breast hypertrophy. During breast reduction surgery, excess glandular tissues, fatty tissues and skin are removed to achieve a new breast size and shape. The breast reduction surgery incision is an anchor-shaped opening that extends straight down from the nipple and around the natural crease beneath the breast. Depending on the extent of the reduction, the nipples are generally moved to a new position.
