Bacteria and fungi help infections to feed off of glucose. A diabetic usually drinks more water due to the thirst factor they have, which in turn causes them to pass more urine. This however, can lead to dry, itchy, skin. So, for all of these reasons, people with diabetes, paying extra attention to their skin and treat any skin problems quickly is most important.
