Pregnancy, weight loss and aging are all capable of changing the way your breasts look. After these changes, you may notice your breasts look saggy and deflated. For some women, a breast lift provides a more youthful breast appearance. But a lift alone does not add volume to your breasts. To achieve lift and volume, a combined augmentation-mastopexy approach may be recommended by our board-certified plastic surgeon near Columbia, Dr. Adam Basner. To schedule a cosmetic consultation with Dr. Basner, please call our office at (410) 616-3000.
Candidates for combined Breast Surgery
A combined augmentation-mastopexy may be a good option for you if you want to enhance:
- The size of your breasts
- The position of your breasts
- The overall shape of your breasts
Only an experienced plastic surgeon like Dr. Basner can determine if you are a good candidate for this combined approach to breast surgery. Dr. Basner has extensive experience performing breast surgery, and he can recommend the treatment plan that will best accomplish your goals and provide the final breast appearance you want.
Elevating your breasts and restoring their volume allows you to be confident in your body once again. These procedures are often included in a mommy makeover, since moms often experience these breast changes after pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Fees associated with the combined Breast Procedure
At Dr. Basner's office, the average fees associated with a combined breast augmentation-lift are $7,500 - $10,500. This average includes anesthesia, surgeon's fee, supplies and surgical follow-ups. It does not include prescription drug costs or any costs related to getting medical clearance pre-operatively.
Dr. Basner and our staff will make sure you have an accurate cost estimate at your consultation. It's not unusual for a specific patient's estimate to be slightly lower or higher than the average listed above.
The combined Augmentation-Mastopexy Procedure
There are several techniques Dr. Basner may choose to use for a combined surgical approach, but generally during an augmentation-mastopexy, incisions will be made to lift and reshape your breast tissue and to enhance the appearance and position of the areola. Breast implants will be placed within your breasts to increase volume. Incisions are then closed with sutures.
In certain cases, these procedures may be performed in a staged approach, with some time having passed between each procedure. Dr. Basner can describe the benefits and disadvantages of both the staged and combined approaches. One of the advantages of a combined approach is that you only have one recovery period instead of two.
