Hi, I’m Dr. Adam Basner, and I’m a board-certified plastic surgeon. In this video I’m going to talk to you about breast asymmetry. Breast asymmetry is a very common problem. I’m not talking about someone with minor asymmetry which just about everyone has. I’m talking about women who have almost a cup-size difference or more between the two breasts. This is more common than people realize. Decision making in breast asymmetry can be complex. Many of the techniques of breast surgery come into play. These include breast augmentation, specifically choosing the type, size and shape of the implant, breast lift techniques and often breast reduction techniques in order to achieve symmetry. Achieving excellent results with breast asymmetry is more challenging than other straight-forward breast surgeries. It is critically important to go to someone who has extensive experience in these techniques in order to get a great result. Please take a look at my before and after photographs. It is important to choose a surgeon who can provide excellent results in these challenging cases as well as the straightforward ones.
