Many patients ask what is the right age for a facelift and what I explain is it’s really not so much the age as aging. There are two main things that are treated by a facelift – laxity in the neck here and the jowl here. So if someone at any age has developed laxity in the neck and jowl that bothers them then they are the right age for a facelift. Now sometimes people just have it in the neck and all they need is the necklace portion of it and that can be done very well separately and doesn’t need to combine with any jowl surgery but for a lot of people they occur together and we treat them both at the same time.
