And the short answer is “no.” The implants are designed very well these days and they’re actually guaranteed for your lifetime, so if they should ever break, you’ll get a new implant from the manufacturer for free. That doesn’t mean they never break, and that doesn’t mean re-operations never occur, but there’s no scheduled time like 10 years that people often mention. If you continue to do well with your implants, you never need to have them changed.
