Hi I’m Dr. Adam Basner and I’m a board-certified plastic surgeon in Baltimore, Maryland. Many people want to know if its more cost effective to have multiple surgeries done at once and the short answer is yes assuming they can be done safely together which is, of course, always a priority. There is a lot of cost savings to doing them together. It’s fairly expensive for us to get you to sleep into the operating room and to hire the anesthetist but once that’s been done it’s less expensive for us to add on an additional procedure and we pass those savings on to you. Additionally, you have to keep in mind it usually combines the recovery so there’s one recovery not two and for many people who work taking less time off of work to recover is a big cost savings as well.
